Friday was Kleftico night and I have to say it was the best I have tasted on the Island.

Right from the start it was a warm friendly atmosphere and we were told exactly how long we would have to wait for the food to come out of the clay oven.

So nibbles and drinks till the main food came.

Well worth the wait. True family atmosphere and invited to join everyone in the bar area , again a warm welcome and impromptu guitar playing from one of the diners.

Tried out this new restaurant yesterday evening in the old Turkish quarter in Girne (Kyrenia), just round the corner from Efendi.

The food and ambiance, absolutely superb, it is owned and run by mother and daughter Fatma and Latife who are Turkish Cypriots and the restaurant is part of their lovely home. Both of them are superb cooks and the food/meal we had was probably one of the nicest we have tasted in North Cyprus. Would thoroughly recommend it to everyone, we most certainly will use it again as their courtyard setting is ideal for the summer months and is second to none, coupled with their very cosy dining area inside for the winter months.

They are open every day except Sundays from 12 noon till late, with very reasonable prices and a very good selection of foods for all tastes.
